Two arrested for trafficking in meth

Two people were arrested Thursday in the parking lot of a busy Panama City shopping center and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.

Investigators with the Panama City Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit had developed two suspects believed to be trafficking in meth. During an ongoing operation, the individuals were located in a parking lot near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and 23rd Street.

Stephen Adams, 39, and Ashley McKay,  33 were inside the vehicle and during a search, investigators found more than 300 grams of methamphetamine.

Adams was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of Alprazolam, sale of methamphetamine, possession of synthetic marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. McKay was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were booked into the Bay County Jail.
