Second charge filed against childcare worker
A childcare worker charged after a child was injured last week has been charged
with a second count after an incident in the fall of 2022.
Detectives with the Panama City Police Department charged Jessica C. Mills, 38 last week
with aggravated abuse, cruelty toward a child from an incident that occurred at a child
development center. That child suffered severe bruising.
Through their continued investigation, detectives have charged Mills with another count of
aggravated abuse, cruelty toward a child from a similar incident that happened Nov. 14th of last
year. In that case, the victim suffered similar injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
Mills remains in the Bay County Jail. The Panama City Police Department is asking that anyone
who thinks their children may have been injured in Mills’ care to call 850-872-3100, or they can
report tips anonymously via the “Panama City PD” Tip411 app.
