Bay County Commission seeking TDC seat applications
The Bay County Board of County Commissioners seeks applicants for appointment to the Bay County Tourist Development Council (TDC) for the county “collector” seat.
The TDC recommends uses of tourist development tax revenue, makes recommendations to the county for operation of special projects related to tourist development and reviews county compliance with those recommendations.
The vacancy is classified as a “collector” seat, and governing statute states that the appointee shall be the owner or operator of a motel, hotel, recreational vehicle park, or other tourist accommodations in the county that are subject to the tourist development tax. The person must be an elector of the county and shall be appointed by resolution of the Board of Bay County Commissioners. The seat has a term of four years, and the vacant seat is set to expire in December 2025.
Letters of interest with complete contact information may be submitted to the Bay County Board of County Commissioners at BOCC@BAYCOUNTYFL.GOV. Letters must be received no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15.
The board is expected to announce its appointee at its regularly scheduled commission meeting at 9 a.m. Feb. 22 in the Commission Chambers of the Bay County Government Center, located at 840 w. 11th St., Panama City. The public is invited to attend.
