PCPD investigating comic book store burglary
The Panama City Police Department is investigating an early-morning burglary at a local comic book and sports memorabilia store.
Officers with the PCPD responded to the Comic Emporium on U.S. 231 around 2 a.m. in reference to an alarm. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the glass doors of the business had been shattered and the building and the adjacent memorabilia store had been burglarized.
Through their investigation, detectives with the department saw four black males on surveillance video breaking the glass and then leaving the businesses with black trash bags. The suspects stole numerous trading cards, baseball cards and sports memorabilia items.
Detectives are asking the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals for questioning in the case. The Bay County Sheriff’s Office is working a similar case involving a burglary overnight at the PCB Coins and Cards store on Panama City Beach Parkway.
Panama City Police Department is asking for anyone with information in either burglary to call the Panama City Police Department at 850-872-3100, or report tips anonymously via the “Panama City PD” Tip411 app.
