Justin Ward Named State Director of Dizzy Dean Baseball and Softball
LYNN HAVEN, FLA. – The City of Lynn Haven is proud to announce that Sports & Recreation Director Justin Ward was named the Florida State Director of Dizzy Dean Baseball and Softball on November 7, 2023.
Joined by the city staff and members of the Dizzy Dean Baseball and Softball organization,
Ward humbly accepted this new role as the first Florida State Director since 2018.
As Florida State Director of Dizzy Dean, Ward will be responsible for coordinating sites for state tournaments while working alongside Dizzy Dean board members from across the state to determine where franchised leagues can bid for tournaments.
When asked how Ward stood out for this role, Danny Phillips, National Commissioner of Dizzy Dean Baseball and Softball, replied, “Justin is very genuine, and it is understood how passionate he is about what he does with the sports program in the City of Lynn Haven. I look forward to Justin being the new Florida State Director, and I am confident that he will lead the state into a much bigger and better program.”
While basking in the glow, Ward stated he could not be more thankful for this exciting journey. “I am extremely thrilled for this new role. Lynn Haven has had a rich history of playing Dizzy Dean Baseball and I strongly believe their program caters to the development of our youth. As the new State Director of Dizzy Dean Baseball and Softball, I aim to create a program where everyone can compete, have fun, and make lasting memories.”
First organized in 1977 Dizzy Dean Baseball, Inc. has grown to a multi-state youth-based
organization. Dizzy Dean Baseball, Inc. is a non-profit youth Baseball/Softball organization
whose mission is to provide a recreation outlet for as many young players as possible, regardless of sex, religion, race, or color. The programs provide youth (ages 5-19) with a fair and equal community-based baseball and softball program.
